For us—and I am being objective here—the majority of our issues originate from the trauma of her precious marriage. Her husband not only chronically cheated on her but abandoned her when she was pregnant. This left her with the fear that I would eventually do the same. Men cheat. It’s part of who we are. We can’t help it anymore than a woman can help menstruating. This anxiety has caused more than a few tense moments between us.
